What is airbrush makeup?

Airbrush makeup is the application in which the foundation makeup is applied. It is applied with an airbrush gun, spraying a very fine mist over your face and decolletage for those who have that area exposed, ensuring an even blend. Airbrush makeup is great for all skin types and has no trouble covering blemishes or problem areas, while still giving that flawless look. Airbrush makeup is not thick and cakey, it gives a soft silky finish.

Will my makeup last all day?

Yes, your makeup will last all day, with minimal touch ups! In particular, bridal makeup needs to last day and night. It needs to be light, yet photograph well and remain looking flawless. It needs to withstand the climate, perspiration and those happy tears. You may wish to have some ‘touch up’ makeup on hand like lipstick and perhaps a blotting powder to keep the shine away if you’re prone to a little bit of perspiration. With regards to your eye makeup, we use waterproof gel liner and mascara.

We are distributors of SeneGence LipSense lipstick, makeup and skincare products – lipstick that lasts up to 18 hours. Please ask us about this waterproof, kiss proof, smudge free, lead and wax free lipstick at your makeup trial or email us for more details.

How long will it take to do my makeup?

We allow 45 minutes when scheduling makeup bookings, although we often have your makeup completed with 30 – 40 minutes. If you are planning to have your hair done, having a mobile hairdresser will help reduce your ‘getting ready’ time. Please ask us if you would like a quote or recommendation for hair. Because of this scheduling we have not had a booking run overtime!

What products do you use?

We use professional makeup products that meet the demands of the Sunshine Coast climate. These products are not tested on animals, they do not contain wax or lead and are perfect for sensitive skin.

Whilst we like mineral makeup and agree it’s great for everyday wear, we don’t use it due to the ingredients that flare against photographers flashes causing that ‘white face’ look.

Can I purchase makeup from Photo Finish Makeup?

Yes, you can purchase makeup from us.

The most popular product that our customers and brides in particular like to purchase is the revolutionary long wear (up to 18 hrs) LipSense lip colour collection. Please ask us about this waterproof, kiss proof, smudge free, lead and wax free lip colour at your makeup trial or email us for more details.

How do I make a booking?

Please contact us for a personalised QUOTE. Once you accept this quote, via email, we will email you a confirmation letter with details for the deposit. Your booking is not confirmed until the deposit has been received.

Can you cover tattoos?

Yes, we can cover tattoos. We do this via two methods. Either with a tattoo cover, which is similar to a sticker (comes in a different range of skin tones). The second way is  colour correcting, concealing and then applying base makeup products. Both methods are transfer resistant, water proof and suitable for sensitive skin.

Tattoo coverage must have a trial for suitability of coverage. Both are available at an additional charge, please contact us for a QUOTE

Do I need to pay a deposit?

Yes, we ask for a small deposit of $50.00, no matter the size of your booking. The deposit is due within 7 days of making the booking. The balance is payable by cash on the day or by bank transfer no later than 7 days prior to the event date. A receipt can be provided on the day or emailed through to you. Your booking is confirmed upon receipt of this money.

I don’t want to look like I have a lot of makeup on, can you achieve this?

Yes, we can. By having your makeup applied with the airbrush application you will always be guaranteed to look very natural. The beauty of airbrushing is that you can layer the makeup to the desired coverage.

What method of payment do you accept?

Deposits are to be paid via bank transfer and the balance is payable by cash on the day or by bank transfer no later than 7 days prior to the event date. Your booking is confirmed upon receipt of this money. At which time we will provide you a receipt via email.

We do accept credit cards with an additional fee of 1.9%

Can you duplicate a look from pictures in a magazine?

Showing us pictures helps us get an insight to the look you’re after, whether it be natural, vintage, glamour etc…. So whilst we can go pretty close to duplicating this look you have to understand that it may not be EXACTLY the same as the picture. Remember these pictures are more than likely of models and have been edited and photoshopped. We aim to highlight your natural features, not give you a complete makeup makeover.

I have sensitve skin. What type of makeup do you use?

We use a range of skin care and makeup products designed for sensitive skin. However, as everyone has different skin and can react to products differently, we ask that you please make sure you advise us at the time of booking and certainly before your trial if you have sensitive skin. If you know what products or ingredients you are allergic to please advise us so we can ensure we have suitable products for you. *There may be an additional fee if we need to purchase specific products for you.

On the day, do you come to me? Do you charge a travel fee?

Yes, we are a mobile service for a minimum of 2 people, and come to you on your  wedding day. Travel within Noosa is included in the price. Please ask for a QUOTE at the time of enquiry if you are outside of Noosa.

For 1 person, we offer makeup service in our home studio in Tewantin.

Do you recommend a makeup trial?

Yes, we do highly recommend a trial for bridal makeup. We like to use this time to chat with you about your big day. We like to discuss your ideas, how your hair will be, the style of your dress, colours of flowers, bridesmaids dresses etc…This all assists us with visualising and helping come up with an individual makeup look for you.

Where does the trial take place?

We allow 1 – 1.5 hours for the trial which takes place at the assigned makeup artists home studio. This will be confirmed at the time of making your booking.

Should I wax my eyebrows?

Yes, we highly recommend having your eyebrows waxed. You don’t have to have them reshaped, but this really helps open up your eye area and remove those little fine hairs that you don’t necessarily see until eyeshadow is applied. Even if this is something you normally don’t do, trust us, for your wedding, you won’t regret it!

Do you do lashes?

We offer false full and half strip lashes or the individual lashes. These are at an additional cost of $15 per set.

Do you do hair?

Photo Finish Makeup do offer hair styling. Please see our Wedding Package prices.

What if I want to cancel my booking?

Please advise us in writing at your earliest convenience. Your deposit is non refundable.
